Week of Feb. 16 - 19!

Happy Valentine’s Day!  We hope you have a relaxing and fun Winter Break!  See you back at school on Tuesday, February 16th!

WHAT WE ARE LEARNING IN…

Bible - Jonah and the whale

Phonics - Identifying and distinguishing the letter R sound.  Writing complete sentences with key components: capital letter at the beginning, finger spacing between words and punctuation at the end.

Reading - Books about our Presidents integrated with our Social Studies and Math curriculum.

Math- Identifying and sorting by value- pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters

Social Studies/Science- President George Washington & President Abraham Lincoln

Raz-Kids is a great program to encourage and improve a student’s reading fluency and comprehension!  Your child received a letter with his/her password from your child’s teacher earlier this week. Books have been selected at his/her current reading level!  It is important to understand that levels are based on fluency, comprehension, independence and confidence while reading the text.  Students become better readers when they are reading at their appropriate level...not too hard and/or not too easy!  Your child’s teacher will reassess them periodically to check for growth.  Please note...after logging on, your child should select “My Assignment” not “Level up”!  Happy reading!

DON’T DELAY- RE-ENROLLMENT HAS BEGUN!

We are already praying and preparing for our next school year.  Registration is open! Please do not wait to enroll for our next school year.  Let us know if you have any questions.  We are here to help and support you through this journey!
