Week of Oct. 5-9

It was wonderful to be able to share your child’s progress with you during our parent teacher conferences.  Thank you for partnering with us to help your child grow spiritually, academically and socially...We are excited to watch God’s big plans unfold for each and every one of our students!

We pray you will have a relaxing & safe Fall break.  Whether you are traveling somewhere or taking a staycation, enjoy your precious family time.  We will send home the homework calendar when we get back from vacation. We will see you back at school on Monday, October 5th!

Apple Day:  This year’s Apple Day was awesome.  Thank you to all the parent volunteers who donated supplies and/or came to help with the apple stations...we couldn’t do it without your generous support!  Thank you for making learning FUN for our students!

This week we learned:

Bible- story of Joseph

“...And he made him a robe of many colors.”   Genesis 37:3b

Phonics- Letter Bootcamp (O). We learned the letter sound, brainstormed words that start with that letter, and wrote our uppercase and lowercase letters properly.  We also learned to recognize the O sound in the middle of words. After Fall Break, we will begin making CVC words

(i.e- C-A-T).

F & F Reading- story sequencing

Sight words- purple, black, in, go

Math- 2D shapes (sides and vertices)

3D shapes (stack, slide and roll)

Science- Parts of an apple, apple life cycle and Johnny Appleseed

It’s Fall!  Please pack a sweatshirt and/or a lightweight jacket for your child so that they don’t get cold during recess!  Most classes go out in the morning and the temps are getting chilly!
